Our Yard Sale for Suzanne and the Global Bake Sale at Noon

Right now I am in the middle of my yard sale. It’s kind of boring because it isn’t a very nice day so not many people are outside shopping. It’s sprinkling on and off. At the same time, it’s exciting. The part of the sale that is exciting is that because I’m older and working with my cousin Patrick. He is in third grade! Today, my mom sometimes leaves us to handle the sale on our own for a little while. So far, I have raised $60.00 for the China Earthquake Relief Fund and my cousin Suzy’s Ride for Roswell. We have a few tables of stuff to sell, but I’m also selling donuts and juice boxes too. Lots of people are buying them.

Because Patrick is here, I thought I wold let him write for a minute.

Why are you helping and what made you interested?

I’m helping because recently, a charity organization came to my school, and I was wondering about what I could do to help. Doing a bake sale is a good idea and so is doing a garage sale! This is a lot of fun!

Do you like working here and why? ( Patrick’s a good help!)

Yes, because it makes you feel like you belong in the world.

I would like to be a doctor because it will help other people.

Are you intersted in doing your own blog?

Patrick’s guest post

Well the yard sale is going great. Were going  to split  the money that we earn half to China Earthquake Relief from the bake sale and half to our cousin Suzanne who is doing the Ride for Roswell. This is a lot of fun. Laura and I are going to go walk around now and see what other people are selling too.

  1. Laura,
In a short time you were able to raise money for a worthy cause, do an interview for your blog and encourage your younger cousin to make a difference. Great job. I am sure the donuts and juice tasted great!

  2. I hope the afternoon went great and the weather got better!

  3. I am impressed with you two young people who are caring of other people’s needs.

    Be blessed.

  4. I stumbled upon your blog and I am so happy I did! I have 3 young children and I will be sure to tell them about you. I know you will inspire them to make a difference. Keep up the good work!
